A co2 monitor can keep you comfortable and save money on heating and cooling by matching the fresh air input to the co2 level. As human occupancy increases in an enclosed space, the level of carbon dioxide also increases. Today's energy efficient homes are tightly sealed and co2 levels can rise to uncomfortable levels unless the homeowner takes steps to introduce fresh air. With every breath, we exhale a lethal level of carbon dioxide, about 30,000 parts per million (ppm). That's why children and pets can die, when accidentally locked inside a trunk or refrigerator. OSHA limits workplace exposure to 5,000 ppm for an eight hour day. Measuring the co2 level lets you know how much fresh air is needed to keep people comfortable and alert. You don't need a sophisticated ventilation system to control the co2 level. Simply opening a window or a door an inch or two, or turning on a poprtable fan, becomes a practical solution when you can measure the co2 level. Too much fresh air wastes money through added heating and air conditioning. By measuring the co2 level, you can adjust windows, doors, and portable fans and find a good balance between comfort and economy.

AS310e's analog output signals (0-10 volt or 4-20 ma) are useful for controlling proportional damper actuators , as well as motor speed controllers such as pulse width modulation (PWM), variable frequency drives (VFD) and Triac types. User selects analog output mode: either a 4 - 20 mA current loop, or a 0 to 10vdc analog signal.
The range between the HI and LOW analog setpoints can be field adjusted to span any two points from 0-5,000 ppm. AS310e's micro-chip controller will automatically adjust the output to be linear over the selected range.
Connect the analog output directly to a proportional actuator and fresh air damper will be completely closed at a user selected low point and completely open at a user selected high point.
A motor speed controller conntected to AS310e's analog output will modulate fan speed. The fan will stop spinning at any user selected low co2 level, spin at maximum velocity at any user selected high co2 level.
